Tribal belts of Maharashtra are using from very ancient times "Water Pit" and small accumulated pond. This is surface water. This surface water is disturbed or quality of water on the surface is spoiled if  groundwaters are extracted without mind. The Water Pits are lifeline for the tribal population.
